In today’s sea of design, only a select few are truly capable of standing out as thought leaders and changing how we perceive the modern world around us.
To further explore how today’s leading designers perceive design, New York City-based design firm Doberman interviewed 20 designers from leading companies around the world to share what they think is next for the world of design.
Called Frontiers of Design, this compelling short film compiles different outlooks from thought leaders and leads viewers in painting a picture of what’s to come. Among others featured in the doc is Tad Toulis—a familiar face in the industrial design industry who currently oversees industrial design and user interface design at Sonos as Vice President of Design.
The film, which clocks in at 38 minutes, compiles a series of two-minute interviews with designers focusing on their perception of modern day design and where things are going. Some of these designers hail from well-known companies such as Google, Facebook, Lyft, and IKEA—while others come from more specialized smaller firms including architectural design company Snøhetta and child game development studio Toca Boca.
The film doesn’t seek out giving us all the answers to what the future holds for design; instead, it seeks to facilitate new conversations that could unfold new pathways.
