Autodesk Fusion 360 is bringing in the new year with a User Interface (UI) facelift!
Presently the UI is in “Preview” mode so as to ease the masses into the new UI workflow. Yet, as to be expected, many of the power users are taking the leap and donning new UI Diggs. While I’m calling this a facelift in actuality it’s more akin to a refresh with a healthy dose of feature and function reorganization.
Instead of wading through linear strings of information things are now nicely regrouped into concise functional and context-specific tabs.
I’ve screen captured each work environment for your viewing pleasure and added a video from power-user Lars Christensen where you can see the new workflow in action!
Additive Flow has unveiled a new generative design tool for additive manufacturing that has the unique ability to handle solutions for materials and mechanical design simultaneously.
You would think this article is from a decade or two ago, but no. It’s really about dual-screen and CAD software using dual-screens… but not like you’re used to.
If you’re a user of Fusion 360, your subscription now includes access to Autodesk EAGLE, the electronic design automation software to aid schematic layout or determine PCB routing and component placement.
You might value the perfect simulation model, striving for perfection—an engineering ideal if ever there was one.

This is a very small behemoth of an online community about 3D CAD, technology, design, robots, ninjas… Ok, maybe not ninjas so much, but those guys are COOL so there just might be something about some dang ninjas. Besides the occasional blast of intensely cool product design and technology, we look at what’s going on in the world of 3D, add a splash of business insight and web tech into the mix and there ya got your SolidSmack.
MiniFactory’s new software produces a very useful report for each 3D print that may be important for clients. We had a close look at one.
