Lynxter announced a new 3D printer, the S300X – FIL11 | FIL11.
This may sound a bit strange, because the S300X is a well-established device from the French company, having been announced way back in 2022. That machine offered dual independent extrusion (IDEX), and used a cartesian motion system that was quite different from their traditional delta motion systems used on prior equipment.
What’s the difference with the S300X – FIL11 | FIL11? It’s all in the materials.
The original S300X was dedicated to silicone materials, which used the company’s LIQ11 and LIQ21 printheads.
The new S300X – FIL11 | FIL11 makes use of, you guessed it, the company’s FIL11 printheads. This printhead supports printing of a wide range of thermoplastics, including PP, PEKK, PETG, PA, PC, PVA, TPU, TPE, ABS, and more.
And there’s two of these printheads in the S300X – FIL11 | FIL11 because of IDEX. The printheads are quick-swappable, and the machine operates in several different modes:
- Print two copies of the same 3D model
- Print mirrored copies of the same 3D model
- Print with a different support material (usually soluble)
- Print with two different materials (or colors)
The S300X is a moderate speed FFF device by today’s standards, with a maximum flow rate of 24 cubic mm per second and maximum acceleration of 10,000mm/s/s. Its generous build volume is 300 x 250 x 280 mm, able to handle a majority of parts.
One reason the machine can handle higher temperature materials like PEKK is that the fully enclosed build chamber can reach 80C. This weakens the thermal gradient and reduces part warping, as well as ensuring proper dimensions of printed parts. The hot end can reach 500C, and the build plate can reach 160C.
Filament spools (both of them) are kept on board the machine in an enclosed area that doubles as a filament dryer. This ensures high quality prints can be made from challenging materials like nylons or high temperature materials.
Finally, the S300X – FIL11 | FIL11 includes both a HEPA H14 filter and active carbon filtration to remove chemicals and nanoparticles generated by 3D printing operations.
The launch price for the S300X – FIL11 | FIL11 is €19,900 (US$21,700), and falls into the typical range for high temperature industrial 3D printers.
