This week’s selection is the BoxLock by Printables contributor The Printing Pilot.
What might this item be? It’s a household gadget that is used to close open cardboard boxes. Sure, you can use packing tape, but that’s a consumable and will ultimately become waste. Why not use a re-usable gadget instead?
There’s only two part to be produced on this project, and both are incredibly simple and easily 3D printed. The two parts fit together to form the BoxLock.
The BoxLock fits between cardboard flaps on package boxes. One side of the BoxLock goes under the flaps, and the other on top. Just twist and the flaps are secured.
Once finished with your box, the BoxLock can be removed and re-used on another box.
That’s quite sustainable.
