Hybrid PhotoSynthesis (HPS) pioneer welcomes three 3D printing industry veterans.
Axtra3D, the North Carolina-based additive manufacturing company behind Hybrid PhotoSynthesis (HPS) technology, has made significant progress since its founding in 2021. At the time, the company’s aim was to commercialize its HPS process, and it has since raised millions in funding, opened a new HQ in Charlotte (this is on top of a subsidiary in Italy) and successfully launched the Lumia X1 3D printer based on the HPS process.
Now, the company is taking another next step ahead by appointing 3D printing veterans Greg Elfering, Andreas Tulaj and Steffen Reinfurth to its revenue and growth team, as well as entering the Japanese market.
The incoming leadership appointees will spearhead the company’s newly restructured revenue and growth team, leveraging their respective experience and expertise to take the company to the next level.
Greg Elfering, who is Axtra3D’s new EVP of Global Revenue, has worked in the additive manufacturing industry for two decades, holding sales and revenue positions at 3D Systems, Stratasys, UltiMaker and HP. In his new role, he will lead global sales and revenue operations with a focus on building strong reseller channels around the world and acquiring strategic accounts.
Andreas Tulaj, for his part, is coming on board at Axtra3D as Senior Vice President of the team, bringing his 25+ years of experience in the industry in senior sales roles at 3D Systems, Concept Laser, GE Additive and Carbon. Tulaj will be responsible for developing reseller channels and sales in Europe.
Steffen Reinfurth has been hired as the new VP of Global Dental Revenue. Dental represents an important vertical for Axtra3D and its high-resolution resin technology and Reinfurth will leverage his two decades of experience working Dentsply, Concept Laser, GE Additive and Carbon to lead growth in this promising market.
Elfering, Tulaj and Reinfurth are not the only recent leadership hires at Axtra3D: in March, the company welcomed Rajeev Kulkarni as its Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to joining the Axtra3D team, Kulkarni served as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at 3D Systems.

Axtra3D has also broken into a new global region with the installation of multiple Lumia X1 systems in Japan. These installations have been facilitated by Tokyo-based distributor DMM LLC 3D Print Department, which partnered with Axtra3D.
