Airtech announced a couple of new sustainable resins for 3D printing.
Airtech Advanced Materials Group is a worldwide organization that is apparently the world’s largest manufacturer of vacuum bagging and composite tooling materials for a wide range of industrial processes. As such, they are quite expert in the development of new materials.
The company has had success marketing their popular Dahltram T-100GF material. This is a co-polyester that includes glass fibers for strength, and is considered a sustainable material due to its use of recycled input material.
They’ve now developed a series of color variations for this material, the specifics of which will be announced later.
The company has also recently developed improved transparent materials, in their High Clarity Resins line. These materials result in transparent finishes after polishing.
While these resins have not been specifically announced as 3D printing options, the company also indicated they will soon announce some additions to their 3D print material options at Formnext. We’re attending the event and hopefully will see whether these new materials make it onto the 3D printing menu.
