Tomorrow is the first work week of March, and things will be back to normal at this publication.
Our Managing Editor, Sarah Goehrke, returns to her post tomorrow morning after a four-month maternity leave. Sarah’s “Project Goehrkin” has apparently been completed successfully! I’m told she’s itching to get back in action, and I’m also certain there are oh-so-many emails awaiting her.
During the past four months I’ve been handling things as I had done before Sarah joined us in 2018. Things were a bit hectic here, as I ended up doing a substantial amount of the writing for the publication. The busiest week by far was November 11-15, the week before Formnext, where we had to prepare all our stories in advance due to the intensive nature of the event. During that week I wrote something close to 35,000 words and 55 stories. Yes, we were quite busy.
Thanks to all who contributed during our busy period, including several new guest posters, and our own Marney who wrote several terrific stories to help fill in.
While things went as well as could be expected, I’m quite certain the grammatical and spelling quality of Fabbaloo will shift upwards considerably upon Sarah’s return. I’m sure readers will appreciate the improved readability and Sarah’s ingenious way with words.
Sarah’s reappearance will not be the only change at Fabbaloo. We have some very special things in the works that will show up in coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Welcome back, Sarah — We missed you!
