Phrozen has just announced its newest addition to the Phrozen 8K series, the Sonic Mini 8K S.

The new desktop resin 3D printer offers the same high-resolution 8K capabilities of prior models, but at a more affordable price.

Introducing the Sonic Mini 8K S

Phrozen was one of the first companies to market 8K resolution MSLA 3D printing. With the Sonic Mega 8K, the company offers the largest build volume on the consumer market, and the Sonic Mini 8K boasts the highest printing resolution at just 0.022mm. That is significantly lower than typical FFF 3D printers, creating the ability to produce very high resolution prints.

The Sonic Mini 8K S is a lighter and more affordable version of the Sonic Mini 8K, offering high resolution 8K printing precision at a budget-friendly price point.

The new 3D printer has a build volume of 165 x 72 x 170 mm, which is more than sufficient to accommodate many typical 3D models. The layer height of the device can range between 0.01 mm all the way up to 0.30 mm, enabling rapid 3D print jobs.

Designed with a beginner-friendly interface, the 3D printer is certainly suitable for various applications, including miniatures, jewelry, and figurines. Phrozen aims to be the perfect entry-level printer for first-time 3D printing enthusiasts and a valuable addition to any 3D printing workflow.

Ray Wu, Co-Founder and CEO of Phrozen, said, “It’s always been our goal to bring 3D printers to the mass, and the Sonic Mini 8K S is proof of our continuous dedication to this dream. By making it more affordable, this printer will open doors of opportunities for those who have been dreaming of owning a high-resolution 3D printer but were cut short due to the commitment of initial investment.”

Pre-Order Details and Discounts

The Sonic Mini 8K S is priced at US$350, which is pretty low for a high resolution desktop resin 3D printer. It will be available for pre-order starting on May 17 at 10 AM EDT.

Early adopters can partake of a pre-order bundle starting from US$300 with free shipping for selected countries. Additionally, those who sign up for Phrozen’s email list can receive an additional 10% discount on the Sonic Mini 8K S pre-order bundle.

Industry-Changing Implications

The Sonic Mini 8K S has the potential to alter the consumer 3D printing industry by making high-resolution 3D printing more accessible than ever before. There was a time when 2K resin 3D printers were the standard, but that’s long shifted to 4K, and now with the new  Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K S that line could shift further.

This could lead to an increase in high resolution 3D designs and prints, as more people can now afford to explore the world of high resolution 3D printing.
