A recipe designer from Paris has become the first person to make US$1M on digital recipes.

Thanks to the popularity of his creations on RecipeHub, the leading platform for finding and downloading digital recipes for 3D printers, a digital cook has now become a millionaire.

Auguste Technau, 35, is a professional chef and a digital recipe designer who started uploading his designs to RecipeHub in 2029, shortly after the launch of the Technicook, a revolutionary kitchen 3D printer by MealForge that can make almost any dish on demand.

The Technicook uses a sophisticated food cartridge that can be used by a Technicook kitchen printer to create different colors, textures, and properties in the printed food. However, the device requires a digital recipe file that contains the instructions and parameters for printing the desired dish.

Technau said he was fascinated by the possibilities of additive manufacturing for food and decided to experiment with different dishes and cuisines using the Technicook. He said he wanted to create recipes that were not only delicious and nutritious, but also visually appealing and innovative.

“I love to play with shapes, colors, and flavors in my recipes. I like to surprise and delight my customers with dishes that they have never seen or tasted before. I also like to challenge myself and push the boundaries of what is possible with 3D printing,” he said.

Some of his most popular recipes on RecipeHub include a chocolate cake that looks like a rose, a sushi platter that resembles a painting, a cheeseburger that has a rainbow bun, and a pasta dish that forms a 3D map of Paris.

Technau said he charges between US$0.99 and US$4.99 per download for his recipes, depending on the complexity and demand of the dish. He said he has sold over 300,000 downloads so far, making him the first recipe designer to surpass US$1M in sales on RecipeHub.

He said he plans to use his earnings to open his own restaurant in Paris, where he will serve both traditional and 3D printed dishes. He also said he will continue to design and upload new recipes to RecipeHub, as he enjoys sharing his creations with other food lovers around the world.

“I am very grateful and humbled by the success of my recipes. I never expected to make so much money from them. I just wanted to express my passion and creativity for cooking. I am happy that so many people appreciate my work and enjoy my dishes,” he said.

RecipeHub is a platform that connects recipe designers with customers who own kitchen 3D printers. The platform has over 10 million users and over 100,000 recipes available for download. The platform also allows users to rate, review, and customize the recipes they download.

RecipeHub’s CEO Maria Gonzalez said that Technau’s achievement is a milestone for the platform and the industry. She said that Technau is an example of how digital recipe designers can turn their hobby into a lucrative career.

“We are very proud of Auguste and his amazing recipes. He is one of our most talented and popular recipe designers on RecipeHub. He has shown that digital recipe design is not only a fun and creative activity, but also a viable source of income,” she said.

Chen added that RecipeHub is committed to supporting and promoting digital recipe designers like Technau, as well as providing customers with a wide range of high-quality and diverse digital recipes for their kitchen 3D printers.

“We believe that digital recipe design is the future of cooking. It offers more convenience, variety, personalization, and sustainability to customers, as well as more opportunities and recognition to recipe designers. We hope that more people will join us in this exciting journey of transforming food with 3D printing,” she said.
