One of the fascinating items we witnessed at 3D Systems HQ was the focus on medical applications. It seemed every few moments someone was running by with a platter of 3D printed teeth or similar. These were eerie to examine, as the detail was sufficiently spectacular to appear highly realistic.
What we didn’t know was the sheer scale of this application. Evidently there are some 50,000 Invisalign teeth braces printed every single day!
Kerry Stevenson, aka "General Fabb" has written over 8,000 stories on 3D printing at Fabbaloo since he launched the venture in 2007, with an intention to promote and grow the incredible technology of 3D printing across the world. So far, it seems to be working!
3D Modelling Scanners is still being used in the Dental Industry. It allows dental manufacturers to replicate an actual model for dentures. My dentist also uses that technology to explore the teeth structure.
