This month’s community support selection is the 3DP Learning Management System, a publicly available set of training courses for 3D printing.

The 3DP Learning Management System is a project sponsored by the EU’s Erasmus+ programme, a funding body whose goal is to “support activities in the fields of education, training, youth and sport”. But it’s not just government funding here; the project involves partnerships with universities, private companies, a high school, and a public institution, all from six different European countries.
According to Doru Cantemir, General manager of the project:
The main objective of the project is to give people the opportunity to develop their skills in 3D printing and to acquire the knowledge that allows them to activate in this field, like employee, entrepreneur, trainer, intermediary, etc.
What is the outcome of the project? They’ve produced a set of 3D printing training curricula, courseware, guidelines for trainers and a learning management system, making their solution quite comprehensive. It’s available in six different languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Romanian and Lithuanian.
Why no German or French? I suspect that none of the partners in the venture were located in countries speaking those particular languages.

Virtually millions of persons from all over the world can learn about 3D printing, 3D modelling, 3D printing applications, etc. for free. The information is presented on 3 levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced users) so there is something useful for everybody.
And this is a very important point: because the internet is worldwide, ANYONE, ANYWHERE can make use of these training courses. This is a tremendous addition to the 3D print community that should be thankful for.
