There’s an interesting new service you might be interested in joining: the 3D Printing Business Directory.

It’s an online service started by Fabbaloo friend and popular 3D print writer Davide Sher, who now also works for SmartTech producing industry reports on the 3D printing industry.

Sher explained to us that he’s hoping to establish a kind of central repository for 3D printing information, focused primarily on companies and the news from those companies.

The directory currently holds over 3,000 entries (including us!)    The service will be of use for those searching for lists of companies that might be of benefit to contact.

I can personally say that finding 3D print companies can be extremely challenging, not only because there are now so many in the world, but also because some companies make it very difficult.

Small companies often don’t know how to properly portray their operation, such as those that seem to only exist on Facebook, for example. Others choose company names that are not unique and worse are easily confused with common words, making searching near impossible. And that’s even if you know they exist.

Such problems are alleviated by using the 3D Printing Business Directory, where you can be assured the companies in the index are definitely related to 3D printing. The lists are sufficiently short that you can actually peruse search results in entirety to find what you’re looking for.

The index is not free, however, as the company does charge a nominal fee to appear on the list.

In addition to listing companies, 3D Printing Directory also offers a kind of “press release central” service, in which they bounce messages from companies towards interested parties. But press releases are not for everyone, as they very often require some interpretation.
