MODIFI3D is a set of excellent tools for finishing your 3D prints.
Prints emerging from all 3D printers require some level of post processing to āfinishā them, from the least to most expensive of printers. Desktop 3D printers are no exception to this rule and operators typically find themselves using tools at hand to finish the prints.
Usually finishing means stripping off excess plastic blobs, removing stringy bits that dripped off a nozzle during a travel move, or removing stubs from support attachment points.
Itās a tedious job sometimes, depending on the complexity and geometry of the 3D model.
More often than not, operators use whatever is handy to do this operation. It may be a nearby box cutter, a screwdriver tip or the needle nose pliers you used to load filament with.

Even better, these tools are heated! This means you can do more than just scraping and bending. You can actually fill holes and cracks easily. Itās really a set of interchangeable tips that fit into an electrically heated hand tool.
The 120g tool is easily held and is just the right length at 117mm. According to the specs, it heats to 450C in less than 15 seconds. (That may be a bit too high for some operations, however).
The heated tool can easily slice through stubborn support material, making clean cuts that appear smooth.
There are safety features: the tool will go to sleep if not used for 25 seconds, and a hand stand keeps the hot end from touching nearby materials.
Changing tips is straightforward, although you may have to wait 30 seconds for a tip to cool down before removal. They simply screw in and out.
Four tip styles are included: Knife, for cutting supports; Needle, for making or finishing holes; Point, for making larger features; Scoop, for removing stringies.
