This week’s selection is the Lament Configuration.

Wait, you don’t know what a Lament Configuration is? Here’s an explanation from Wikipedia:

Lemarchand’s box is a fictional lock puzzle or puzzle box appearing in horror stories by Clive Barker, or in works based on his original stories. The best known of these boxes is the Lament Configuration, which features prominently throughout the Hellraiser movie series. A Lemarchand’s box is a mystical/mechanical device that acts as a door — or a key to a door — to another dimension orplane of existence. The solution of the puzzle creates a bridge through which beings may travel in either direction across this “Schism”. The inhabitants of these other realms may seem demonic to humans.

Tripllex designed and printed a version of the box and provided a step by step photographic story of how the box was produced on his own equipment. There are multiple Lament Configuration 3D models available for download, but tripllex felt the free models were not suitable and decided to make his own. At this time, he has not yet made this model available to the public. This could be problematic, given that the rights to the design are still held by the movie makers.

Meanwhile, we really hope he doesn’t open the box!
