Are you up for a 3D design contest? If so, CGTrader has an interesting event for you.
The contest is straightforward, but has a pretty open concept for entries. You must submit designs for: “3D printable items of cutlery, decorations, tools for home or any other useful things”. In other words, things for the home.
Why enter this contest? Aside from the obvious feeling of success in developing a creative entry, the contest’s prizes are pretty decent.
In the “Best Home 3D Printable Portfolio” category, the first prize is a complete, assembled LulzBot TAZ 4 3D printer, a selection of plastic filament to go with it, a 3D print of your winning entry and, why not, a t-shirt, too. Two runners-up will be awarded a gift cert for Sculpteo as well as plastic filament, printed entry and the t-shirt.
In the “Best Home 3D Printable Model” category, first prize receives USD$400, gift cert from Sculpteo, plastic, printing and the t-shirt, whereas two runners-up get the same less the USD$400.
