The Massive Kamermaker 3D Printer

Unveiled this month, the Kamermaker 3D printer must be one of the largest RepRap-technology based devices yet.

How big is it? Let's just say that the exterior case was originally a standard 20 ft metal container! How big is its build envelope? Well, normally we quote build envelopes in millimeters, but this goes well beyond that: it can build objects up to 2 x 2 x 3.5 meters (6.5 x 6.5 x 11.5 ft)!

The Amsterdam-based project, led by DUS Architects with assistance from Ultimaker and many others, is intended to be a mobile 3D printing "pavilion". The Kamermaker could appear in your neighborhood and print out useful stuff.

Some say this massive 3D printer could print entire rooms of a house. Maybe if it was a very small room, but it could definitely print furniture.

Just don't expect soft seats.
