Zaggo, author of one of our favorite 3D modeling utilities, Pleasant3D, announced that the project is now going open source. Evidently the author, like many of us, was simply too busy to do further work on the software and has passed it on for the community to improve.
We think this is an excellent move as Pleasant3D is a wonderfully simple program that provides excellent viewing and adjustment of STL 3D models. If you’re using a Mac, it’s just what you need to check and re-orient your 3D model before slicing it for printing. Now we’re hoping the community will expand its capabilities with new features.
