New York City Ground Zero Model

An amazing three-part model of New York City's Ground Zero is now on display at the Manhattan's New York City Fire Museum. The three part model by artist David Munson shows a 3D cityscape of buildings in the vicinity of Ground Zero before the Sept 11th event, immediately afterwards, and finally after all is rebuilt. 

 

The incredibly detailed set of three 17 x 17 inch models was developed from a variety of data sources, including Google Earth, Wikipedia, photographs (some even taken by Munson himself). After composing the models in 3dsMax, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Photoshop, he was able to use a ZCorp 3D printer to produce the detailed and colorful models.
